Dan our Lay Chaplain

Hello from our Chaplain.

Hello everyone my name is Dan and I am thrilled to introduce myself as your new lay chaplain working across our four schools. I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about me. I am originally from Birmingham and have previously worked as a teacher in Catholic primary schools. I am a big Aston Villa fan and love watching all sports in my spare time. I love to travel and have been very fortunate to be able to witness the universal church on international pilgrimages and mission trips to Europe, South America and Africa. These experiences have helped shape my life and ministry. My role will be to work with the young people in the four schools to help them answer the big questions they may have and guide them along their journey of faith.

High Peaks Chaplaincy

Dan is the Chaplain for the High Peak school. These are St Annes Buxton, St Thomas More Secondary School Buxton, St Marys New Mills and St Marys Marple Bridge. You can follow the activities of the High Peak Chaplaincy on Facebook and Instagram.

Mini Vinnies is a child’s stream of the St Vincent de Paul Society. Our aim is to put our concern into action.

The members of the Mini Vinnies will be meeting with Dan to see what social action we can do to try and help our local, national and international communities.

The CYMFed, Catholic Youth Ministry Federation, Faith in Action award is a scheme for young people to celebrate their faith and consider how they can put their faith into action.

Year 5 will be starting their Pin Faith in Action Award in the Lent term working closely with Dan to think about how they can make a difference in their world.
